About us

The aim of the Young Inspectors Programme is to:

  • Inspect services to make sure they are doing what they should be doing.
  • Give feedback to services including what’s good and what could be made better.
  • Make sure that children, young people & families are listened to.
  • Raise young people’s confidence and self-esteem.
  • Get young people engaged with the services.

What the Young Inspectors enjoy the most:

"I enjoy having a say because I feel like my voice is finally being heard”

"Much more confidence, much more curious, more intelligent and I’m more creative"

"I get to meet new friends and work in a group"

"Making new friends because I struggle making friends within my age group"

I enjoy having a choice because I feel my opinion matters"

"Our Young Inspectors make a significant contribution towards improving the quality of the services we deliver and provide to children, young people and families in Rotherham. They are an integral part of our improvement journey and continue to shine a light on what’s working well and what we need to improve. They are fantastic to work with and never fail to impress and amaze me with their professionalism and enthusiasm to make a positive difference."
